Sustainability in Action

Since the launch of Sustainability 2017 we have started to put in place a framework to enable us to deliver the vision.

We want to make sustainability an integrated part of our routine management processes – our sustainability workshops concluded that this is the right way forward.

Our business activities are diverse, so much of our sustainability planning is being done at the level of our individual businesses within the overall strategy. In their budget submissions for 2008/09, all our businesses included a section on plans for sustainability, following the decision of the Chief Executive’s Committee that sustainability should be fully embedded into management processes from the 2008/09 budget year.

We will give an update on the progress of our businesses in next year’s report.
