The European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA) aims to reduce Europe’s dependency on other countries and increase economic resilience by diversifying critical raw material supply from both primary and secondary sources, improving resource efficacy and circularity, whilst also promoting responsible sourcing. We have joined ERMA in support of this vital initiative.

The Global Battery Alliance is a public-private collaboration platform created to help establish a sustainable battery value chain by 2030. Batteries are considered as one of the primary enablers of the 2°C Paris Agreement goal in the transport and power sectors, setting us on the pathway towards achieving the 1.5°C goal. To this end a circular and responsible battery value chain are essential, with action needed today to ensure acceleration of a sustainable battery industry and a level playing field. Johnson Matthey shares the GBA’s view that circular and sustainable battery value chain is essential in the fight against climate change.
