Precious metal sheet, wire and tube
We can provide you with the highest possible quality products for manufacturing resistance thermometer detectors (RTDs) and electrical contacts. We also provide RTD lead-out wire which can be plated or coated if required. These products are made to meet your requirements and specifications, including hardness, resistance, and tensile strength.
Silver palladium diffusion tubes
Our tubes can be used to extract extremely pure hydrogen for semiconductor applications. This alloy makes the perfect material for selective diffusion, providing:
- An indefinitely small permeability of other gases
- Low expansion when saturated with hydrogen
- Good corrosion resistance
- High plasticity
- High strength
Our electroplating solutions can be used as an alternative to gold for connectors as it has a lower density and so less weight of metal is required for a coating of similar thickness. Some manufacturers benefit from palladium application to plate lead-frames as an environmentally preferable alternative to tin-lead solder. Also, a range of palladium salts can be used in electroplating bath and activator solutions.
Metal deposition precursors
We supply volatile precious metal precursors with ligands such as 2,4-pentanedione (acetylacetone or acac) which can be used in metal deposition processes such as chemical vapour deposition (CVD). Hydrated ruthenium oxide (a precursor to make volatile ruthenium tetroxide) and gold grain for sputtering are also available from Johnson Matthey.
Our OROBRAZETM, PALLABRAZETM and ARGOBRAZETM filler metals provide a high strength and resistance to corrosion at elevated temperatures. Low levels of impurities allow our brazing filler metals to operate in vacuum tube devices at raised temperatures without compromising component performance. ACTIVE-BRAZETM products can successfully wet and braze ceramic components and man-made hard materials such as as solid Poly-Crystalline Diamond (PCD), Poly-crystalline Cubic Boron Nitride (PCBN), single crystal and Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) diamond.
