Ni-130

[(TMEDA)Ni(o-tolyl)Cl]

CAS Number: 1702744-45-3

Despite the versatility and unique reactivity of Ni(0) precursors such as Ni(COD)2, the high air sensitivity of these materials requires handling and use under rigorously air-free conditions. These drawbacks prevent the use of Ni(0) precursors under typical benchtop conditions and create logisitical challenges at larger scales. [(TMEDA)Ni(o-tolyl)Cl] or Doyle's catalyst, is a general air-stable precursor that reacts with a variety of phosphine and bipyridyl ligands via displacement of the highly labile TMEDA ligand.  [(TMEDA)Ni(o-tolyl)Cl] can be used in a variety of cross-coupling and photoredox transformations.
