Heck reaction catalyst

Olefins are critical functional groups for a wide variety of small molecule applications including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, petrochemicals, polymers, and other specialty materials. The Heck reaction is a versatile transformation for both intramolecular and intermolecular cross coupling of olefins with (hetero)aryl and alkenyl electrophiles. Selectivity for branched or linear olefin products can be tuned by choice of ligand or catalyst state (neutral vs cationic). Redox-relay variations of the Heck reaction have also been developed, allowing for remote or enantioselective functionalization of allylic and propargyl alcohol substrates.

Johnson Matthey offers a wide selection of Pd precatalysts for Heck coupling reactions.
