Information for applicants

Data protection

Johnson Matthey plc is the data controller for the information you provide during the recruitment process unless otherwise stated.

When you apply for a job with us you will be asked to provide personal information to support your application and to enable us to determine your eligibility and suitability to work with JM. This will include the personal information we need to contact you and progress your application as well as information to enable us to select the right candidate for the role. It may include things such as past employment details, educational qualifications, skills, and volunteering activities.

If you are successful in the employment process any personal information provided to us may then form part of your HR record which we would hold in accordance with our data protection policies.

Prior to you starting work with us we may use your personal information to carry out pre-employment checks, including criminal record checks and right to work checks, and to verify references.

For more information about the process or the way we handle your information please contact us at graduates@matthey.com or speak with your recruitment adviser.

Equal opportunities

JM will recruit, train and develop employees who meet the requirements of the job role regardless of gender, ethnic origin, age, religion or belief, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, sexual orientation, gender reassignment or disability. The policy recognises that people with disabilities can often be denied a fair chance at work because of misconceptions about their capabilities and seeks to enhance the opportunities available by attempting, wherever possible, to overcome obstacles, such as the need to modify equipment, restructure jobs or to improve access to premises, provided such action does not compromise health and safety standards. Similarly, employees who become disabled during their employment will be offered employment opportunities consistent with their capabilities. We value the diversity of our people as a core component of a sustainable business and employment applications are welcomed, and encouraged, from all sections of the community including minority groups.
