Pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation catalysts
Raw pyrolysis gasoline (pygas) has high unsaturated hydrocarbon content, making it an excellent source of aromatics and high-octane gasoline components, but it must be hydrotreated before further processing. Eliminating acetylenes, dienes and aromatic olefins (such as styrene) gives several critical benefits:
- improve the induction period and colour
- reduce gum content of gasoline blending components
- reduce fouling in the downstream hydrodesulphurisation unit.
Our pygas catalyst portfolio
We have nickel and palladium catalyst solutions for 1st stage pygas treatment.
Within our PRICAT™ PD range of catalysts we have multiple options for pygas hydrogenation, depending on the specific requirements of your application.
HTC™ NI 200 is the leading nickel catalyst for all designs of pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation units.
HTC NI 400 is a higher activity product to handle higher feed rates, more stringent product specifications, higher contaminant levels and higher olefin saturation.
Both HTC NI products are used in four types to suit different activation situations. Once activated, all forms exhibit equal performance characteristics.
