Pyruvate to lactate enzyme technology

Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) catalyses the reduction of pyruvate to either (R)- or (S)- lactate, while oxidising in turn NADH to NAD+, which is then regenerated using glucose dehydrogenase (GDH).

Advantages of pyruvate to lactate enzymes:

  • Provides high efficiency and fast conversion rates of pyruvate to lactate.
  • LDHs simplify reaction conditions by utilizing a straightforward reduction mechanism with NADH.
